Introducing Selin: The AI That Listens, Thinks, and Speaks
Today we're launching Selin — an AI assistant built on the same principles we apply to security: precision, reliability, and zero tolerance for confabulation. Voice in every language, expert depth in every domain, and memory across every conversation.
Why We Built Another AI Assistant
We spend most of our time thinking about threats — attack surfaces, adversarial inputs, failure modes. When we started building Selin, we applied the same lens to the AI assistant market itself.
What we found: most AI assistants are optimized for impressive demos. They're fluent, fast, and confident — and that confidence doesn't always track reality. They hallucinate citations, state guesses as facts, and fail silently when they don't know something. For casual use, that's tolerable. For the kind of professional work our customers do — security decisions, compliance analysis, technical architecture — it's a liability.
Selin was built around a different set of requirements.
What Selin Is
Selin is a general-purpose AI assistant available at selin-ai.com. It handles the full range of knowledge work: research, writing, analysis, code, strategy, and conversation. But several things about it are meaningfully different from what's currently on the market.
Voice — Both Ways
Selin speaks. Not text-to-speech in the robotic sense — she produces real pronunciation with appropriate cadence and tone, and supports every major language. You can ask her to pronounce a Japanese phrase, conduct an entire meeting in French, or switch mid-conversation. The voice layer isn't cosmetic; it's a first-class interaction mode built for people who think better when they can talk through a problem.
Emotional Intelligence
Most AI assistants are tone-deaf. They respond to the literal content of what you write without regard for how you're communicating it. Selin tracks emotional state — frustration, excitement, confusion, urgency — and adjusts before she adjusts her answer. When you're stuck on a problem at 11pm and your third message is a single exasperated word, she doesn't respond with a cheerful five-paragraph essay.
This matters more than it sounds. The difference between an assistant that makes you feel heard and one that makes you feel like you're filing a support ticket is the difference between a tool you use every day and one you abandon after a week.
Expert Depth Across Domains
Selin doesn't have a home domain. Medicine, finance, law, cybersecurity, software architecture, creative writing, scientific research — she brings genuine depth to all of it. She knows when a question requires a specialist and will say so explicitly rather than glossing over uncertainty with confident-sounding noise.
Memory That Actually Works
Selin remembers. Not just within a conversation — across sessions, across projects, across months. You can organize work into projects, and she'll maintain context across every conversation in that project. If you told her about your architecture in January, she knows about it in April. If your priorities shifted, tell her and she updates.
This is the feature that turns an AI assistant from a search engine into a working relationship.
Live Web Search
When current information matters, Selin searches the web in real time and cites her sources. She distinguishes between what she knows from training and what she just retrieved — so you know how much weight to give each answer.
Ethically Grounded
Radical honesty is a design requirement, not a marketing claim. Selin flags when she's uncertain, acknowledges when she might be wrong, and declines to fabricate. In practice this means fewer impressive-sounding wrong answers and more honest "I'm not sure, but here's what I do know" responses.
For security professionals who've seen AI systems confidently produce dangerous misinformation, this is not a minor point.
Pricing
Selin is free to start with no credit card required — 50 messages per day, full feature access, complete conversation history.
Pro is $20/month: unlimited messages, priority responses, Selin Code access, advanced memory, and 10 API keys for integrating Selin into your own applications.
Enterprise is available for teams that need custom integrations, compliance controls, and dedicated support.
Who It's For
If you work in security, Selin is a research and analysis partner — threat modeling, CVE analysis, compliance interpretation, documentation, architecture review. She won't replace a human expert, but she'll compress hours of groundwork into minutes.
More broadly, Selin is for anyone doing knowledge work that requires genuine depth and a tool they can trust. Not the AI assistant that hedges everything into uselessness, and not the one that confabulates its way through topics it doesn't understand.
